Ortega is a strain that is super fast finishing and a good commercial gardeners choice due to the ease of growing and super high yields.
Ortega is an old school favourite created over 20 years ago by crossing genetics from Afghanistan, Mexico and Columbia. The mostly Indica Dominant variety produces buds that are traditional skunk afghani looking in both the spicy slightly citrus tasting buds appearance of light oranges and greens with a warm peppery taste. The odour can really get powerful towards the end so make sure your carbon filters are fresh.
Ortega is a good strength Indica dominant cannabis strain that is great for switching off and stress relief. If your looking for inspiration Ortega is a good choice as the Indica dominance will send you into deep thought. Indica dominant cannabis strains have a prolific effect on the body and can completely relax the muscles into a body stone. Sometimes it can be an issue as people say with a couch lock that makes it hard to move with a very heavy hitting strain. Ortega does have some sativa in its genetics so it will not put you in a comer, but it is very much a body stoners choice.

Around 70% Of the genetics in Ortega come from the Indica hash making regions of Afghanistan with 30% Sativa coming from regions of Mexico and Columbia. Ortega should grow quite short staying under 100cm, but occasionally can stretch a little in high temperatures. The buds grow with typical Indica compact looking, but with bulging hues out the sides. Yields are going to be well above average and the plants can be adapted to super cropping, topping, bending and will suite most grow rooms. Ortega grows highly uniformed with not many variations so is well suited to beginners and all types of grow rooms.

Howard Marks and Shantibaba, the men who created Mr Nice Seedbank, met during the late 1990's while living and working in Holland. In 1995, Shantibaba had set up the Greenhouse Seed Company. Coincidentally, at the same time, Howard was released from a lengthy imprisonment in the USA.
During the next few years, the two became very good friends and discussed the possibility of working together. They decided to start a seed company to help growers throughout the world.
In 1998, Shantibaba sold his interest in the Greenhouse Seed Company and, as a sole trader, set up Mr Nice Seedbank, which has always been and remains a Dutch company. He established Mr Nice Seedbank, with its forty parent plants, to make strains and seeds available to all levels of growers in order to help them spread the genetic diversity of cannabis.
Rather than joining any seed companies' bandwagon by merely chasing money, Mr Nice Seedbanks dedicated their efforts to make old and new world seeds available for growers. They did not care how many seeds they sold or whether they had a profile in the limelight.
In 1999, Dutch law changed and no longer permitted the production of seeds. However, selling seeds imported from another country remained legal. Mr Nice wanted to fulfil their project without breaking any country's laws. Accordingly, they moved growing operations to Switzerland, where the law permits growing cannabis for seed production. Many Dutch seed companies lost plants, mother rooms, and seed crops, but in Switzerland, Mr Nice seed production blossomed.
