Mat Beren, a medical marijuana advocate from Canada, started working with Compassion Clubs and dispensaries in 2002. Mat was growing medical marijuana for 600 patients at the Vancouver Island Compassion Society (VICS) when Canadian authorities arrested him. Eventually, Mat was exonerated in 2009 when a judge gave him an absolute discharge after a long legal battle. Mat's been concentrating all his energy on producing the best medicinal cannabis, tailored to the patient's needs since that historic constitutional ruling.
